    Steve Ho completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in 1995 at the University of British Columbia. In the past, Steve has won a number of national composition awards held by SOCAN (1987) and CAPAC (1988, 1989) of Canada.  Steve’s soundtracks to the wildly popular Hong Kong animated movie “My life as McDull” has won the 24th Hong Kong Film Award for the best original film score. His latest soundtracks include “McDull Prince de la bun”,McDull, the Alumni” and the upcoming “McDull goes to China”.  His soundtracks have been hailed for the extensive use of classical elements which have raised interests in classical music for the moving-going public. His latest children musical, “A tale of Guangzhou”; premiered this summer in China at the prestigious Sun Yet-Sin Memorial Concert Hall; received rave reviews by both public and critics alike, so much so that the musical will be performed continuously at the Youth Children Palace of Guangzhou next year. In addition, Steve’s music has been featured repeatedly in music festivals such as the 2006 Polyfollia in France, the 2003 World Choral Symposium in Switzerland, Pacific Piano Competition BC, International Choral Kathaumixw, Powell River, CFMTA’s Musical Odyssey and the China International Choral Festival. His compositions “Voices of the Future”, “Music of the Spheres" (winning song of 2005 CASH Golden Sail Award)  and “In One Accord” have respectively been chosen as theme songs for various music festivals.  His “In One Accord” will once again have the honor to be the theme song to the 2006 HK International Youth and Children’s Choral Festival and the 2007 World Choral Symposiums held in Taiwan. Besides composing, Steve has been sought after to as adjudicator and lecturer such as the Richmond Music Festival, the The Hong Kong Institute of Education, and St. Stephen’s college.
